Sketch with me in the heart of the English countryside!   This 3 day sketching experience takes in Cotswold villages, Shakespeare country, regency Cheltenham and heritage towns of Worcestershire.  Sketching inspiration will abound from the rolling hills, quaint stone cottages, beautiful buildings and classic English countryside as summer colours brighten up the landscape.

Prior to moving to France I lived and worked in the Cotswolds for many years and I’m so excited to draw, paint, explore this area with you!

Suitable for all levels, in these workshops you’ll overcome your fear of the blank page and explore alternative techniques for different subjects. Working with pencils, ink and watercolour we’ll go through some of the essentials of drawing on location, use of colour and other materials to liven up your sketchbook!  These workshops are ideal for beginners or a great refresher if you’ve already got some drawing or painting experience.

The recommended base for the workshops is Evesham, which is central to the area and has a well-served railway station and many places to stay, eat and shop.

Sample sketch itinerary

• Friday – Exploring Evesham, the river Avon, the Abbey and afternoon teas 🙂
• Saturday – Beautiful timber buildings in Tewkesbury and quaint old shopfronts
• Sunday – Charming stone cottages in Broadway and classic Cotswold views

Suggested materials:
Sketchbook with paper 220gsm or more suitable for watercolour, portable sketching stool, basic watercolour travel set, watercolour brush, HB/B/2B pencil, eraser, sharpener and watercolour pencils

Workshop price: 200€ / £175

What’s included?

The workshop price includes tuition 10am-4.30pm daily and use (if necessary) of sketching materials.  Meals, refreshments, transport and accommodation are not included.  This is a travel sketching experience so the workshop days may require some short distance travel but this will be arranged at low cost for the group via public or private transport subject to numbers and local service availability.  If you have any questions and would like more details please don’t hesitate to contact me!  emailme@annettemorris.art

Is it possible to book just one day?

Yes, it is possible to join just one or two workshops (90€ / £80/day) – simply email me to check availability for the date that you would like to book.

Additional notes:
There will be some walking up and down hills and steps, so please wear comfortable footwear and bring waterproofs in the event of inclement weather.
