We spend 2 wonderful days urban sketching in Montpellier ( a week ago) with Annette and a small crew of like minded artists. I don’t know any one more passionate about what they do than Annette. She inspires and will give you confidence, with a good measure of guidance to start or build on your art journey.
On that note, Urban sketching is a way to introduce you to new places, discover new foods and make new friends. And unbeknown to you, you will inadvertently discover that you bring happiness to those around you. People will peer at your work and make comments (sometimes) , others will want to take a photo of you sketching .. and I think you become an inspiration to others who would like to do the same.
So do yourself a favour .. get off the merry go round and indulge in the pleasure of Urban sketching …

If you look for a day that can make you completely happy, then join a sketching class with Annette Morris – it was so much fun, also lovely relaxing, surrounded by nice people, it was just great! It was like playing golf, only much better! Thank you so much and hopefully I can join another class soon again!

I recently joined Annette’s sketching weekend in Carcassonne. I go sketching every now and then but I’ve always felt a little bit uneasy with watercolour, despite how much I like it. Annette met me where I was at and tailored her guidance and choice of subjects based on what I was keen to experiment with. I got to try many different ways of approaching a watercolour painting, some of which I wasn’t even aware of! Thanks to her excellent guidance, actionable tips, and infectious love for bold colours, I can’t wait to get out there sketching again (with watercolour, of course!). Sketching locations in Carcassonne are excellent, ranging from medieval structures to cute cafes and restaurants. Annette is a lovely human whose passion for sketching and for sharing her craft is truly inspiring. I look forward to joining another one of her workshops in the hopefully not-too-distant future!

I attended Annette workshop in Beziers this weekend and absolutely loved it. I am a beginner and at first found the painting subjects very challenging. Annette provided a structured method on how to approach the subjects and guided us along the way. It was rewarding to be able to complete the paintings.

This was a great workshop by one of my favourite watercolour artists. The pace was fast (although I do appreciate the time restraints) and I was able to follow along for most of it and then complete any finishing touches afterwards. The PDF was a welcome addition as a step by step guide too.

Thanks so much for yesterday, it was very enlightening, and fun.
The tips are great and I’ll refer to them as I hopefully continue my sketching. I look forward to doing another session with you.

I would go anywhere in the world with Annette’s sketch group! Such a magical and unique experience getting to explore a city through the lens of sketching with people from all over the world. From logistics to art instruction, Annette does a wonderful job leading the workshop. I learned so many new things and I will undoubtedly sketch and see the world in a new way after this trip. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Unforgettable!

I had a great week learning to sketch with Annette. As an absolute beginner I was a little uncertain and lacking confidence but Annette was super helpful and as the week went on I started to produce some art that I was actually quite proud of. The other students were great company and the whole week was thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Just home after an amazing sketching trip to Paris with Annette and a fabulous group. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough! It was a brilliant experience seeing Paris as a sketcher. Lots of opportunities for quick sketches, photographs, interspersed with sightseeing whilst walking and bus trips but plenty of stops for refreshments at some fantastic cafés and restaurants. Annette made the weekend such a special experience with attention to detail, making sure we had a memorable trip seeing lots of what Paris has to offer and have many lovely memories – and sketches- of a great weekend. Looking forward to adding to my sketchbook now that I’m home. Thank you so much Annette 🧑‍🎨🇫🇷

Annette is a wonderful teacher and has a great style. She is relaxed, fun to be with, and very helpful. I highly recommend her!

It was fantastic, I love her style. I was able to follow along (barely), and got a reasonable sketch at the end.

I had a wonderful week sketching with Annette last year. As a newcomer to sketching she gave me huge confidence and invaluable help and encouragement when needed. I know the others would agree with me. I have become a very active sketcher thanks to Annette and have wonderful memories of long lunches, lots of laughs and of exploring her corner of France.

I went with very low expectations but a secret hope that I might actually be able to do this – Annette said everyone can draw – and she is right!! I did and I can!! Thank you Annette for giving me the confidence to just go for it . We were so lucky that we had a beautiful sunny day (and a fab lunch sitting outside ) Lagrasse is a fabulous location to sketch too.. Annette makes you feel totally at ease and it was lovely to go with 3 other fun lovely women too ! Looking forward to more classes please soon

I recently took part in a Sketching morning with Annette and 3 other ladies. I am a beginner which didn’t matter amongst the more experienced. Advice and tips were given throughout the session which was very relaxing and fun. I’d recommend this to everyone. thank you Annette I’ll see you in Puisserguier.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on the sketching weekend in Paris with Annette Morris. Annette led a well thought out and interesting course. I had not sketched in a long time and was a relative beginner, but I grew and was challenged in a good way during this weekend. The group size was perfect and Annette helped create a cohesive group spirit and a supportive atmosphere. This sketching weekend was a marvelous way to see a city with fresh eyes! Meeting lovely people with the same interests in art was an added bonus.
