Having recently completed the Watercolour Sketching for beginners course I can highly recommend both the course and the excellent teacher, Annette. Being a complete novice I was amazed and thrilled by the many skills I learnt and the wonderful paintings I was able to produce. Just enjoyed an energetic weekend in Paris sketching with Annette Morris Art . We covered many of the best known landmarks, and managed very brief, longer, and full-length sketching sessions. It was wonderful to concentrate on drawing, without having to think about route-finding, where to eat, and locations for coffee and recuperation, because Annette had that all planned. it was fun to work with like-minded people, and as usual, we all looked at the same thing but saw something completely different. I have ended up with some memorable sketches in themselves, some sketch material to develop, and enough photographs to take me through the winter! I genuinely recommend any session Annette runs as manager: I look forward to another one myself. Brian Stone.

I recently joined Annette’s sketching weekend in Carcassonne. I go sketching every now and then but I’ve always felt a little bit uneasy with watercolour, despite how much I like it. Annette met me where I was at and tailored her guidance and choice of subjects based on what I was keen to experiment with. I got to try many different ways of approaching a watercolour painting, some of which I wasn’t even aware of! Thanks to her excellent guidance, actionable tips, and infectious love for bold colours, I can’t wait to get out there sketching again (with watercolour, of course!). Sketching locations in Carcassonne are excellent, ranging from medieval structures to cute cafes and restaurants. Annette is a lovely human whose passion for sketching and for sharing her craft is truly inspiring. I look forward to joining another one of her workshops in the hopefully not-too-distant future!
