Spring Sketching Weekend – Béziers
Béziers Béziers, FranceA glorious sketching weekend in one of the oldest cities in France - take in riverside & canalside views, magnificent architecture, café culture and wonderful food.
Béziers is a fascinating city that provides no end of subjects for sketchers! The impressive Cathedral Saint-Nazaire stands high above the city and overlooks the Canal du Midi and River Orb below. In the city centre is a huge avenue lined with plane trees and cafés, leading to a historic area with cobbled streets and bric-a-brac shops. There are regular busy markets, both indoors and out. Towards the outskirts of the city is a modern shopping centre and a beautiful landscaped park full of statues, trees and fountains.
The main railway station is within walking distance of the city centre and on the main TGV line between Marseille and Barcelona. Smaller buses help you get around the city centre if you prefer not to walk.
