These creative breaks are designed to help you capture the very essence of a location whilst also learning a whole new set of artistic skills. There'll also be plenty of opportunity for you to explore, walk, swim, paint, relax in your own time too!
Who are these holidays for?
Anyone interested in developing a new skill and switching off from the busy-ness of life will love these holidays - no previous artistic experience needed – just a desire to unwind, learn and be creative!
If you are already drawing or painting then these holidays will teach you some interesting new techniques - particularly if you are hoping to 'loosen-up’ your approach to sketching.
All of these holidays are suitable for solo travellers. Non-sketching partners, photographers and walkers will enjoy them too - we'll be exploring interesting locations where there's so much to experience and discover.
What can you expect?
To learn the essentials of quick sketching, to discover the best tools to carry with you, some different ways to create a visual diary, and how to essential elements to your sketches such as architecture, perspective and people.
The day usually starts with a quick morning sketch before tackling a larger subject, and we continue working on our sketches through lunch.
In the afternoon you'll be free to practise the techniques, relax, shop, snooze, swim, walk or explore the location on your own or with a group.
Whatever your experience or skill level I'll work with you at your own pace.
A sketchbook filled with your own unique holiday memories will be something you value forever!
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on the sketching weekend in Paris with Annette Morris. Annette led a well thought out and interesting course. I had not sketched in a long time and was a relative beginner, but I grew and was challenged in a good way during this weekend. The group size was perfect and Annette helped create a cohesive group spirit and a supportive atmosphere. This sketching weekend was a marvelous way to see a city with fresh eyes! Meeting lovely people with the same interests in art was an added bonus.
