Sketchtember 2020

They say it takes 30 days to create or change a habit. I don’t know if that’s true, but it sounds about right.

Daily Sketch ‘challenges’ are not easy (I realise that’s the point of a challenge!) but real life can be busy and unpredictable. I know from my own experience that if I start falling behind with a challenge, I feel the pressure to get it done, even though the motivation may not be 100% all the time. The important thing is not to give up. Sketching, however you do it, should surely be fun and enjoyable, not a chore!

This year, the Sketchtember prompts are here to help you fill several pages in your sketchbook and try some new techniques, but perhaps not every day. It’s up to you.

How it works …

September has 30 days – which divides neatly into a series of 6 topics. Each topic can last for 5 days.

You can do as many sketches per topic as you like, when you like, but the idea is to complete at least one sketch per topic – giving you half a dozen completed sketch pages – or more!

If you’d like some guidance or are stuck for ideas, there will be a new video module released for each topic, giving you some tips and suggestions on where to start, materials to use, techniques to try etc.

Sketchtember
is a great way to get started or back into sketching, you can play around with some new techniques too. Sketch from the prompts on your own, or with a little virtual guidance from me!
