My husband and I had already bought four of Annette’s sketches before we attended an exhibition of hers in last January. We were completely blown away by all her work and bought two more. If we had more wall space available we would have loved to buy more and had real trouble deciding which two would make the cut! They bring us a great deal of pleasure and we are so glad that we were able to pick them up before the current lockdown.

I had a great week learning to sketch with Annette. As an absolute beginner I was a little uncertain and lacking confidence but Annette was super helpful and as the week went on I started to produce some art that I was actually quite proud of. The other students were great company and the whole week was thoroughly enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Have done two of the modules. Really easy to follow, great pace – so easy to keep up with the sketching and painting. You will be amazed at what you produce. Would recommend to all. I will definitely be doing some more.

I’ve already done some of you Etchr Studio classes and learning so much from you. Your use of the color pencils during the first wash is absolute magic!

I’ve been benefiting from Annette’s online watercolour sketching tutorials. They are enormous fun and structured to include a variety of topics and techniques for the absolute beginner. This is something I’ve wanted to try for years and Annette’s clever teaching has given me the confidence and the skills to have a go. Highly recommended.

I just love my learning experiences with Annette, both virtually on zoom and her daily sketching prompts on facebook. She demonstrates techniques and explains how to best work with various media, including watercolour paints and crayons. For anyone who has an interest in improving their skills, or would like to embark on a new hobby, I would thoroughly recommend that you follow Annette’s wonderful examples and, when possible join a zoom class.

I enjoyed it very much. I am familiar with Annette’s teaching style and so I was able to sketch along, but I think that would be possible if not familiar. The follow-up video allows another attempt at the learner’s pace and also further practice.

Still buzzing nearly a week after Springtime in Paris with Annette. Excelled all my expectations and if you want Paris to get into your soul, and not just be a tourist, this is the way to do it! It’s exciting, exhilarating and enlightening and I recommend a good pair of comfy shoes along with a good quality sketchbook. Annette is not just an accomplished artist, she is an encouraging teacher who also happens to be the best tour guide, bus planner, café connoisseur, reserver of restaurants and much much more! You will never look at Paris in the same way and as a bonus you will meet a special band of brothers. You’ll come home with an extraordinary sketchbook souvenir.

I spent the weekend sketching with Annette and a lovely group of women. I’m an absolute beginner and Annette was so helpful, a great teacher and a very talented artist who has inspired me to sketch and water colour and its now my new favourite thing to do. ☺️

Just enjoyed an energetic weekend in Paris sketching with Annette Morris Art . We covered many of the best known landmarks, and managed very brief, longer, and full-length sketching sessions. It was wonderful to concentrate on drawing, without having to think about route-finding, where to eat, and locations for coffee and recuperation, because Annette had that all planned. it was fun to work with like-minded people, and as usual, we all looked at the same thing but saw something completely different. I have ended up with some memorable sketches in themselves, some sketch material to develop, and enough photographs to take me through the winter! I genuinely recommend any session Annette runs as manager: I look forward to another one myself. Brian Stone.

Annette is a great teacher since she explains everything clearly and simply. She imparts a sense of fun and helps even beginners feel self-confident. I have done an online class, as well as an in-person class on location, with Annette. Both were excellent!

This was a great workshop by one of my favourite watercolour artists. The pace was fast (although I do appreciate the time restraints) and I was able to follow along for most of it and then complete any finishing touches afterwards. The PDF was a welcome addition as a step by step guide too.

The instructor did an excellent job explaining her process and my initial drawing proportions were better than usual for me. I will try her techniques on other drawings.

The most patient, encouraging and talented teacher there is. A micro grain of creativity will be rooted out by Annette and hey presto…. a new world of art and fun.

I had always hoped to join one of Annette’s wonderful sketching classes when I was living in France but ran out of time! During the lockdown, I decided to try one of her online classes and chose Sketching for Absolute Beginners. It was such an enjoyable and satisfying experience as I never imagined I would be able to draw or paint anything! You take the workshop at your own pace and Annette is there at the end of each module to answer any virtual questions that you have. There’s a great introduction to the materials you need and then you follow different modules which are so well paced and thought out. Annette takes you step by step through the process from your first doodle to planning the page, gaining perspective, then sketching in pencil, ink and water colour crayons and finally working with water colour paints. There are lots of clever tips and interesting techniques to learn, I was so pleased with my progress over such a short time – it’s such a wonderful journey and really good value. Since then, I have joined a couple of her Zoom classes and definitely plan more online workshops and hopefully I will get to a live one too!

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience on the sketching weekend in Paris with Annette Morris. Annette led a well thought out and interesting course. I had not sketched in a long time and was a relative beginner, but I grew and was challenged in a good way during this weekend. The group size was perfect and Annette helped create a cohesive group spirit and a supportive atmosphere. This sketching weekend was a marvelous way to see a city with fresh eyes! Meeting lovely people with the same interests in art was an added bonus.

Annette is a wonderful artist and teacher! I am a beginner watercolorist, although I do have some experience with the medium. Annette explains and demonstrates things very well. Added to a lovely, upbeat personality, her demos and workshops are great! What I have enjoyed the most is her selection of locations in France as references. I love traveling around the Mediterranean, particularly Italy, and want to learn to capture my travels (in person and my photos) in a watercolor sketchbook. I will be doing her master class in this series next!

Having recently completed the Watercolour Sketching for beginners course I can highly recommend both the course and the excellent teacher, Annette. Being a complete novice I was amazed and thrilled by the many skills I learnt and the wonderful paintings I was able to produce. Annette is a friendly and enthusiastic person and a brilliant teacher.

It was fantastic, I love her style. I was able to follow along (barely), and got a reasonable sketch at the end.

I had a wonderful week sketching with Annette last year. As a newcomer to sketching she gave me huge confidence and invaluable help and encouragement when needed. I know the others would agree with me. I have become a very active sketcher thanks to Annette and have wonderful memories of long lunches, lots of laughs and of exploring her corner of France.

I went with very low expectations but a secret hope that I might actually be able to do this – Annette said everyone can draw – and she is right!! I did and I can!! We were so lucky that we had a beautiful sunny day (and a fab lunch sitting outside ) Lagrasse is a fabulous location to sketch too.. I spent a wonderful day in Montpellier at one of Annette’s beginner workshops. I’m amazed at how much I learned in just a few hours. Annette is a great teacher and really made me feel comfortable – I have gone from thinking “I just can’t draw”, to “I CAN, and it’s fun!”. Annette gave so many useful little tips along the way, which made all the difference to my feeling capable and wanting to continue sketching. Added bonus: I now have a lovely souvenir of the beautiful Montpellier architecture!

I recently took part in a Sketching morning with Annette and 3 other ladies. I am a beginner which didn’t matter amongst the more experienced. Just home after an amazing sketching trip to Paris with Annette and a fabulous group. Can’t recommend this trip highly enough! It was a brilliant experience seeing Paris as a sketcher. Lots of opportunities for quick sketches, photographs, interspersed with sightseeing whilst walking and bus trips but plenty of stops for refreshments at some fantastic cafés and restaurants. Annette made the weekend such a special experience with attention to detail, making sure we had a memorable trip seeing lots of what Paris has to offer and have many lovely memories – and sketches- of a great weekend. Looking forward to adding to my sketchbook now that I’m home. Thank you so much Annette 🧑‍🎨🇫🇷

We spend 2 wonderful days urban sketching in Montpellier ( a week ago) with Annette and a small crew of like minded artists. I don’t know any one more passionate about what they do than Annette. She inspires and will give you confidence, with a good measure of guidance to start or build on your art journey.
On that note, Urban sketching is a way to introduce you to new places, discover new foods and make new friends. And unbeknown to you, you will inadvertently discover that you bring happiness to those around you. People will peer at your work and make comments (sometimes) , others will want to take a photo of you sketching .. and I think you become an inspiration to others who would like to do the same.
So do yourself a favour .. get off the merry go round and indulge in the pleasure of Urban sketching …

Enjoyed a great 4 day sketching holiday with Annette in Quarante, France. Excellent tuition with useful exercises and tips. I think I became a little more colourful!! Annette is very organised, inspirational and enthusiastic. The bed and breakfast accommodation with Annika was “palatial” but so relaxed and comfortable that it was like staying with an old friend. I just thought I would write to tell you how much I enjoyed that wonderful few days with Ian in Montpellier. I need hardly tell you that I have been on many art courses and holidays, and I have no hesitation in saying that that was clearly one of the most enjoyable.  Let me pay particular tribute to the way in which you quietly and discreetly organised everything. I don’t remember any single thing going wrong. You may well be a born artist: you’re certainly a born manager.

You don’t have to be an artist or any good at drawing to have a fabulous time with Annette. First time sketching and the time flew past. And our sketches actually look like something!!! Great time and learned so much.
