After ‘les vendanges’, this weekend sketch break we\u2019ll be based in the historic village of Montouliers \u2013 located in the heart of Languedoc’s Minervois wine-growing region.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll start by getting to grips with some of the basics of travel sketching with ink and watercolour \u2013 ideal for beginners or a great refresher if you\u2019ve already got some drawing or painting experience. We\u2019ll be exploring the village and surrounding area through our sketches, learning a whole pack of tips and tricks about perspective, colour, journaling and of course, tasting some of the local produce!<\/p>\n

The holiday starts on Friday evening with a welcome drink at 6pm. We shall start sketching at 9.30am on Saturday finishing at approximately 4.30pm.\u00a0 On Sunday we will sketch from 10am through to 1pm and the afternoon is yours to enjoy, relax, explore, or sketch some more!<\/p>\n

Where to stay:<\/strong><\/p>\n

La Calade is a newly renovated Chambre d\u2019h\u00f4tes with 4 beautiful first floor bedrooms. All rooms have original features and beautiful private bathrooms. There is also a communal kitchen\/dining area for guests to prepare their own meals if necessary.<\/p>\n

Transport recommendations:<\/strong>
\nFly to B\u00e9ziers, Carcassonne, Perpignan or Montpellier
\nClosest railway station: Narbonne
\nWe suggest you hire a car but airport pick-up can be arranged if necessary.<\/em><\/p>\n

What to bring:<\/strong>
\nSketchbook, Portable sketching stool, Basic watercolour travel set, Watercolour brush, HB\/B\/2B pencil, eraser, sharpener. A detailed materials list will be sent with booking confirmation or by request. Simply email annette@sketchlanguedoc.com<\/a> for full details. If you need to use a sketch kit on loan, this can also be arranged in advance.<\/p>\n

Additional notes:<\/strong>
\nMontouliers is a hilltop village and there will be some walking up and down steps, so please wear comfortable footwear and bring a waterproof in the event of inclement weather.<\/p>\n

Double room (sole occupancy): 345\u20ac
\nDouble room (1 sketcher + 1 non-sketcher sharing): 390\u20ac
\nTwin room (2 sketchers sharing): 270\u20ac per person
\nSuite (2 sketchers sharing): 270\u20ac per person<\/p>\n

A 100\u20ac deposit will secure you booking. The balance is payable by bank transfer 30 days before the holiday starts.<\/p>\n

Prices include 10 hours sketch tuition, bed and breakfast but exclude other meals, refreshments and transport.<\/p>\n
