This vibrant, cultural and historic city is not just one of France’s most sought after destinations, it offers an incredible amount of sketch subjects – from majestic buildings and classic French architecture to luscious green parks, street cafés and let’s not forget the food and fabulous wine!

If you are new to sketching with watercolour this day workshop is packed with tips and tricks to show you how to get those first few lines on paper and get started with your travel sketching journey!  The mood is light and the colours will be bright as we capture moments & memories of life in Montpellier in our sketchbooks.  After meeting and planning our day over coffee we will sketch through to the afternoon – pausing for a light lunch at a local café.

What to bring:
Sketchbook, Portable sketching stool, Basic watercolour travel set, Watercolour brush, HB/B/2B pencil, fineliner ink pens with waterproof ink, watercolour pencils, eraser, sharpener, water and water pot, small rag or tissues.  If you need to know more about the materials or request a sketch kit on loan, please email annette@sketchingfrance.com for full details.

Additional notes:
There will be some walking up and down hills and steps, so please wear comfortable footwear and bring a waterproof in the event of inclement weather.
