DESCRIPTION:Suitable for: Beginners\, Week away with the Girls\, Solo Travellers\, Travel with a non-sketching partner\, Francophiles\, Wine lovers\, Hikers \n\nChalabre is a small but beautiful medieval town situated deep within Cathar country in the very south west corner of the Aude\, Chalabre is the capital of the Quercorb region not far from the Spanish border.  Being close to the Pyrénées\, this picturesque town benefits from a Mediterranean climate yet with mountain influences.  The town has weekly markets\, quaint half-timbered houses and impressive stone châteaux.  The river ‘Hers-Vif’ flows through Chalabre\, adding to the charm with small bridges and riverside paths. \nThis weekend workshop offers the chance to discover this fascinating location through sketching in ink and watercolour.  Explore and capture the quiet cobblestone & riverside laneways of a medieval town in a historic part of southern France. \nGetting to Chalabre:\nChalabre is located between Toulouse\, Carcassonne and Perpignan airports. Carcassonne is the closest train station which can be reached from Barcelona or Paris. DESCRIPTION:Ideal for: A weekend away with the girls\, History lovers\, Photographers\, Francophiles\, Foodies \n\nTreat yourself to 3 days sketching in this vibrant\, cultural and historic city – you won’t regret it!  Montpellier is not just one of France’s most sought after destinations\, it offers an incredible amount of sketch subjects – from majestic buildings and classic French architecture to luscious green parks\, street cafés and let’s not forget the food and fabulous wine! \nFor this weekend break we’ll be based in the heart of the city – La Place de la Comédie.  From here we’ll start by getting to grips with some of the basics of sketching on location.  This workshop is ideal for beginners or a great refresher if you’ve already got some drawing or painting experience.  We’ll be exploring the city through our sketches\, learning a whole pack of tips and tricks about perspective\, colour\, adding people to your drawings and of course\, making memories about this incredible area of France! \nThe city is known for being pedestrian and bike-friendly with close to 200 km of paths and a great tram network\, so it’s easy to get around without a car. With an international airport it’s also incredibly accessible from almost anywhere – and you can also catch a high-speed train to or from Paris\, or even drive from London or Barcelona! \n\nWhere to stay: \nI suggest somewhere within walking distance of La Place de la Comédie.
