DESCRIPTION:This vibrant\, cultural and historic city is not just one of France’s most sought after destinations\, it offers an incredible amount of sketch subjects – from majestic buildings and classic French architecture to luscious green parks\, street cafés and let’s not forget the food and fabulous wine! \nIf you are new to sketching with watercolour this day workshop is packed with tips and tricks to show you how to get those first few lines on paper and get started with your travel sketching journey!  The mood is light and the colours will be bright as we capture moments & memories of life in Montpellier in our sketchbooks.  After meeting and planning our day over coffee we will sketch through to the afternoon – pausing for a light lunch at a local café. \nWhat to bring:\nSketchbook\, Portable sketching stool\, Basic watercolour travel set\, Watercolour brush\, HB/B/2B pencil\, fineliner ink pens with waterproof ink\, watercolour pencils\, eraser\, sharpener\, water and water pot\, small rag or tissues.  If you need to know more about the materials or request a sketch kit on loan\, please email annette@sketchingfrance.com for full details. \n  \n\nAdditional notes: \nThere will be some walking up and down hills and steps\, so please wear comfortable footwear and bring a waterproof in the event of inclement weather. \nWorkshop price excludes meals\, transport and accommodation.\nIf you would like more information before booking – please email me annette@sketchingfrance.com \n

DESCRIPTION:A glorious sketching weekend in one of the oldest cities in France! Take in riverside & canalside views\, magnificent architecture\, café culture\, wonderful food and the warmest of welcomes from Candy & Charles at Maison Jullian. \nSketch in the city and learn a range of ink and watercolour techniques. This weekend is suitable for people with some or no art experience and materials can be provided on loan if you do not have your own. \nWhere to stay: \nMaison Jullian – a superbly renovated château adjacent to the Canal du Midi and a short walk from the station and city centre.  Room prices start from 175€ per night – email Candy at info@maisonjullian.com to check availability and to book! \nTransport recommendations:\nFly to Béziers with Ryanair or Montpellier\, Toulouse or Perpignan with other airlines\nClosest rail station: Béziers within walking distance of Maison Jullian & the city centre \nWhat to bring:\nSketchbook\, Portable sketching stool\, Basic watercolour travel set\, Watercolour brush\, HB/B/2B pencil\, eraser\, sharpener.  A detailed materials list will be sent with booking confirmation or by request.
