DESCRIPTION:Have sketchbook will travel!  Enjoy a couple of days capturing the beautiful scenery in and around beautiful Bize-Minervois.  Whether you are already sketching or an absolute beginner\, Annette will guide you step-by-step. We’ll be sketching the scenery in and around the historic hill-top village of Quarante as well as the Canal du Midi. \nWhy is this a travel sketching adventure? Because we’ll be taking the bus so you won’t even need a car!  This will be great fun and sketching on-the-go\, making memories and capturing the essence of those moments in your sketchbook. \nWe’ll focus on observing shapes\, page planning and working fast and loose with watercolour\, how to sketch people and architecture\, perspective\, flowers and nature. \nOur sketching itinerary starts the evening of 6 June. For the next 2 days we will start sketching in the morning and after lunch you then have the rest of the day to explore the area on your own\, do some more sketching or relax by the private pool. \nWhether you are already sketching or an absolute beginner\, Annette will guide you step-by-step. You’ll produce your first sketch within an hour and will complete your stay with some fabulous memories in your sketchbook! \nMaterials: We will be using the Starter sketch kit (items will be available for you to use on loan or to purchase if you do not have your own). Sketching inspiration is around every corner. \nFrom your base in a comfortable and charming B&B in Quarante\, we will travel through some of the most picturesque spots and discover the rich cultural history of the area. We will meet artisan producers and sample the rustic traditional charcuterie. You’ll lunch at many venues favored by the locals. Along the way\, you will become skillful sketcher and get first-hand knowledge of the region’s cuisine and wines. \nWhat we’ll do \nLearn how to capture a moment in time in your sketchbook\, your impression\, your way. Step-by-step you’ll be guided through a fun process of planning your pages\, working with text\, colour and different materials. SUMMARY:Mariners' Tales: Sketching Bristol
DESCRIPTION:Straddling the River Avon\, Bristol has a huge maritime significance. The harbourside\, shipyards and iconic suspension bridge are just a few reminders of its history and importance during the industrial revolution of the 19th century. A vibrant and cultural city\, there are sketch opportunities at every turn. \nDuring this 3 day workshop holiday we’ll base ourselves in Clifton near the Observatory. From here we can study the impressive architecture of the Merchant Mariners and explore the city centre and harbourside. Suitable for all levels\, in this fun 3 days you’ll overcome your fear of the blank page and explore different page layouts and alternating techniques for different subjects. DESCRIPTION:A wonderful 3 night sketchbook adventure in Paris. We’ll enjoy strolling through the streets without the crowds and exploring the city after dusk; perfect to learn the skills of night sketching and capturing the vibrant colours and atmosphere of one of the most beautiful cities in the world by day! \nThe tuition will cover the essentials of sketching on location\, which is ideal if you are a beginner or lacking confidence in your drawing. You will learn how to use ink and watercolour selectively\, quickly and with confidence. \nAccommodation:\nHotel Minerve is a 3-star hotel set in a Haussmannian-style building located in the 5th arrondissement – which is a great choice for travellers interested in history\, art and culture. SUMMARY:A Week in the Wolds - Urban Sketching in the Heart of England
DESCRIPTION:Sketch with me in the heart of the English countryside!   This 5 day sketching experience takes in Cotswold villages\, Shakespeare country\, regency Cheltenham and heritage towns of Worcestershire.  Sketching inspiration will abound from the rolling hills\, quaint stone cottages\, beautiful buildings and classic English countryside as autumn colours brighten up the landscape. \nPrior to moving to France I lived and worked in the Cotswolds for many years and I’m so excited to draw\, paint\, explore this area with you! \nSuitable for all levels\, in these workshops you’ll overcome your fear of the blank page and explore alternative techniques for different subjects.
