DESCRIPTION:Join Urban Sketchers instructor and inspirational artist Ian Fennelly for a fabulous week of workshops in the south of France 8-12 September 2025! \nIan has selected Nîmes as the location for these 5 workshops in 5 days. Nîmes is a fascinating and historic city\, with Roman architecture\, beautiful gardens and street side cafés – it offers an abundance of subjects for Ian’s wonderful art & captivating teaching style. \nWorkshop days\nIn these workshops Ian will guide you through 1 different sketch subject each day.  Usually\, the workshop day starts at 9.30am ending at approxiately 5pm. There is a short break for lunch so you can bring a picnic with you or find a local café/boulangerie nearby. \nMaterials\nYou will need an A3 sketch pad suitable for ink and watercolour – please click here for Ian’s preferred list of materials. \nGetting to Nîmes\nYou can fly direct to Nîmes with RyanAir or with other airlines to regional airports Montpellier\, Béziers and Marseille. Nîmes also has a central train station which serves the high-speed trains from Marseille\, Paris\, Bordeaux\, Toulouse & Perpignan. \nWhere to Stay\nYou will find a wide choice of accommodation in Nîmes\, from 4-star hotels to private apartments and rooms to rent. SUMMARY:Urban Sketching Workshops in France with Ian Fennelly September 2022
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a short break in this beautiful city and take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to learn from international USk instructor and British artist Ian Fennelly. \nIan will be offering workshops and demonstrations on 5 days from 19-23 September 2022. \nThe workshops start approximately 9.30am where Ian will choose a location and work through the line drawing step by step so everyone can sketch alongside.  There will be a break for lunch\, which can be taken with the group but some people prefer to make their own arrangements.\nAfter lunch\, Ian will help everyone develop and complete their sketches and the workshop will finish approximately 4.30pm.  Ian often then does an additional quick sketching and invites others in the group to work along with him.\n  \nThe cost per person is £75 per day payable in advance. This excludes any meals\, refreshments or transport. \nFor this workshop holiday Ian will be based in Montpellier\, which also has an airport and SNCF train station. DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a short break in this beautiful city and take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to learn from international USk instructor and British artist Ian Fennelly. \nIan will be offering workshops and demonstrations on 5 days from 19-23 September 2022. \nThe workshops start approximately 9.30am where Ian will choose a location and work through the line drawing step by step so everyone can sketch alongside.  There will be a break for lunch\, which can be taken with the group but some people prefer to make their own arrangements.\nAfter lunch\, Ian will help everyone develop and complete their sketches and the workshop will finish approximately 4.30pm.  Ian often then does an additional quick sketching and invites others in the group to work along with him.\n  \nThe cost per person is £75 per day payable in advance.
