SUMMARY:A Week in the Wolds - Urban Sketching in the Heart of England
DESCRIPTION:Sketch with me in the heart of the English countryside!   This 5 day sketching experience takes in Cotswold villages\, Shakespeare country\, regency Cheltenham and heritage towns of Worcestershire.  Sketching inspiration will abound from the rolling hills\, quaint stone cottages\, beautiful buildings and classic English countryside as autumn colours brighten up the landscape. \nPrior to moving to France I lived and worked in the Cotswolds for many years and I’m so excited to draw\, paint\, explore this area with you! \nSuitable for all levels\, in these workshops you’ll overcome your fear of the blank page and explore alternative techniques for different subjects. Working with pencils\, ink and watercolour we’ll go through some of the essentials of drawing on location\, use of colour and other materials to liven up your sketchbook!  These workshops are ideal for beginners or a great refresher if you’ve already got some drawing or painting experience. \nThe recommended base for the workshops is Evesham\, which is central to the area and has a well-served railway station and many places to stay\, eat and shop. \nSample sketch itinerary \n\nMonday 22 – Exploring Evesham\, the river Avon\, the Abbey and afternoon teas 🙂\nTuesday 23 – Beautiful timber buildings in Tewkesbury and quaint old shopfronts\nWednesday 24 – Charming stone cottages in Broadway and classic Cotswold views\nThursday 25 – Chic boutiques and buildings in regency Cheltenham\nFriday 26 – Discovering Shakespeare country – travel sketching in Stratford-upon-Avon\n\nSuggested materials:\nSketchbook with paper 200gsm or more suitable for watercolour\, portable sketching stool\, basic watercolour travel set\, watercolour brush\, HB/B/2B pencil\, eraser\, sharpener and watercolour pencils \nA detailed materials list will be sent with booking confirmation or by request.
