DESCRIPTION:This vibrant\, cultural and historic city is not just one of France’s most sought after destinations\, it offers an incredible amount of sketch subjects – from majestic buildings and classic French architecture to luscious green parks\, street cafés and let’s not forget the food and fabulous wine! \nIf you are new to sketching with watercolour this day workshop is packed with tips and tricks to show you how to get those first few lines on paper and get started with your travel sketching journey!  The mood is light and the colours will be bright as we capture moments & memories of life in Montpellier in our sketchbooks.  After meeting and planning our day over coffee we will sketch through to the afternoon – pausing for a light lunch at a local café. \nWhat to bring:\nSketchbook\, Portable sketching stool\, Basic watercolour travel set\, Watercolour brush\, HB/B/2B pencil\, fineliner ink pens with waterproof ink\, watercolour pencils\, eraser\, sharpener\, water and water pot\, small rag or tissues.  If you need to know more about the materials or request a sketch kit on loan\, please email annette@sketchingfrance.com for full details. \n  \n\nWhere to stay: \nI suggest somewhere within walking distance of La Place de la Comédie. SUMMARY:Colours of the Mediterranean Sketching Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Indulge in a weekend sketching by the sea along the Vermillion Coast not far from Spain!   This quaint and colourful town is a treasure trove for sketchers\, and during this lovely weekend break we’ll be sketching around the old port and the chateau.  Our sketchbooks will be filled with Catalonian colour as we study boats\, water and the hustle bustle of the busy cafés that surround the beach. \nFor many decades Collioure has remained a very popular destination for artists – rich in history it offers a huge variety of subjects for painting and drawing and in fantastic light. \nThis weekend is suitable for anyone new to urban sketching or artists with some experience but looking for a looser watercolour style. \nTo enquire for further details and register your interest\, please send me an email to annette@sketchingfrance.com \nSuggested hotel a short walk from the station and the port: \n\nHotel Mediterranée
